Ruth Goldberg

Professor of Cinema and Cultural Studies at the State University of New York (SUNY).

Her fields of interest include horror cinema and cultural memory, Cuban cinema, experimental films and queer cinema.

Among her recently published texts, she studies the Cuban documentary filmmaker Nicolás Guillén Landrián and the experimental film tradition.

Consultant for film projects and the Underground Film Festival, the African Film Festival of Brown University and the Havana Film Festival in New York.

Board member of the Son Edna Foundation and the Americas Media Initiative.

Recent awards granted include the Arthur Imperatore Community Forum Fellowship and the Scholar Across the College Award, both from the State University of New York.
