CHAVÓN offers student opportunities by hosting custom-programs for educational institutions in the campus of La Romana.
Since its establishment, CHAVÓN’s facilities have hosted student groups accompanied by faculty from institutions such as the New York Academy of Art, Philadelphia University, Millikin University, Bethel University, Parsons School of Design, and The New School.
The School’s location in the Caribbean, at the hub of the Americas, is an ideal location for groups wishing to experience new cultures and environments. The Altos de Chavón campus in La Romana offers easy access to airports, nearby towns, and the capital city of Santo Domingo, the site of The School’s urban campus.
Located in the southeast of the Dominican Republic, the village of Altos de Chavón offers students peace and seclusion, and promotes intense immersion in educational pursuits.
The brick and coral-stone buildings of Altos de Chavón house art studios, crafts workshops, galleries, stores, and restaurants. Painters, designers, artisans, writers, and musicians come to CHAVÓN from different parts of the world to create, teach, and learn.
The program options listed below include experienced local staff support during a group’s stay. Field trips and art and cultural experiences can be arranged at additional cost.
