Graduated from Escuela Internacional de Cine y Televisión, EICTV, San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, with a degree in Documentary Filmmaking.

Specialized in Documentary Filmmaking at Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.

Works and lives in Belo Horizonte, as one of the directors of Tempero Filmes, a space for audiovisual creation and production with a focus on author cinema, connecting Brazil, Germany and Mexico.

His documentaries have received 90 awards and have been shown at important festivals, such as Cinéma du Réel, Toulouse, Nantes (France), Visions du Réel (Switzerland), Tampere (Finland), Huesca, Valladolid, Documenta Madrid (Spain), DocLisboa, Indie Lisbon (Portugal), Chicago (USA), Havana (Cuba), Guadalajara (Mexico), Cartagena (Colombia), among others.
