A Dominican architect and interior designer, Andreas is a graduate of the Pontificia
Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and holds a Master’s degree in architecture
from the Yale School of Architecture. After working in New York for several years at
architecture and interior design firms such as Robert A.M. Stern Architects and
Gensler New York, she returned to the Dominican Republic to establish Studio AD, a
multidisciplinary design studio focusing on the intersection of architecture, interior
design, art, objects, graphics, and materials.
Currently she is co-coordinator of CHAVÓN’s Interior/Product Design major.
Raquel is a Fine Arts graduate of CHAVÓN. Her work can be found in the permanent
collections of the RISD Museum, in Providence, Rhode Island; the Museum of Latin
American Art, in Long Beach, California; and the Daros Latinamerica Collection, in
Zurich.
She has participated in exhibitions, residencies, and biennials in the United States,
Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Highlights among these are the
Venice Biennial of 2009 and 2013; the VIII, IX, and XXI Biennials of Havana, Cuba; the
X Biennial of Cuenca, Ecuador; the III Biennial of the End of the World, in Ushuaia,
Argentina; and the Jamaica Biennial of 2017.
Raquel has been an active participant in art tours in our country. She has a special
interest in promoting spaces for dialog and education among cultural platforms. She
was co-creator of the collective Quintapata (2008–2015), with whom she developed
joint projects with the aim of encouraging art and artistic dialog in the Dominican
Republic and creating connections with other contexts and spaces.
She won the Eduardo León Jimenes Grand Prize in 2006, 2008, and 2012 and won
prizes at the XX and XXII National Biennial of Visual Arts in Santo Domingo. In 2015
she received the support of the Davidoff Art Initiative for a residency in the
Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, in Berlin.
Currently she is coordinator of CHAVÓN’s Fine Arts major.

Franklin has exhibited at the Bronx Museum; the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center, in Manhattan; in the Rumba Cubana restaurant, in New Jersey and in several individual and group shows at the Dominican Commissioner Cultural in New York City. He is working with the artist Miguel Brown on the art project Caribbean: A Happy Living.
Franklin’s works have decorated walls of several restaurants such as the Corcho Wine Room, in Washington Heights, Manhattan. He participated in the illustrators’ group show New York City Visions, in Julio Valdez’s gallery, JVS Project Space, and his work has been shown at the Spanish Cultural Center in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Julianny’s work is a consideration of the social and ideological patterns of domesticity in their material dimension, through sculptures, installations, and painting.
Julianny was an artist in residence at the Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral, Bad Ems, Germany. She was included in the 27th National Biennial of Visual Arts in the Dominican Republic and is co-creator of the Dominican editorial project Onto. Her work has been shown in Casa Quién and the Museum of Modern Art in the Dominican Republic; the Art Wynwood International Contemporary Art Fair, in Miami; in the Made in Balmoral Gallery, in Germany; and in the Atrium Gallery, in Charleston South Carolina, United States.

Alejandra began her career as a designer working for such brands as Stella McCartney, Anna Sui, and Vince Camuto, in New York City. In 2015, she studied accessory design at the Istituto Marangoni, in Milan. She worked part time for important Italian brands such as Furla and Sebastian Milano, learning about the construction of handbags and shoes. She received a prize for a collaboration with the handbag brand Furla in 2016.
Alejandra worked, in Spain, as senior designer of handbags for Zara Woman and Zara SRPLS. After working for three years in the fast fashion industry, she decided to open her own studio, Studio G47, and she worked as an independent designer for many brands such as Topshop, C&A y H&M. She is currently part-time creative director for the Spanish brand Farrutx, managing and designing collections of handbags and shoes.

Communication Design
Chinel has more than 10 years’ experience in the editorial field. She was art director of the prestigious magazine Santo Domingo Times and the magazine Dominicana Gourmet, and was a contributor to the magazine DH. She is currently art director of the magazine AAA, the first architecture magazine of the Caribbean.
She has designed magazines and books, among them Trazos en el mar: Guillermo González, arquitecto de la modernidad dominicana, Estructura, Bitácora de un ingeniero, by the engineer Reginald García Muñoz, and the first edition of 101 razones por las que la República Dominicana es grandiosa.

Better known as Gigi Polo, Niberca opened her studio, Myellow Boots, in 2005, first while working as art director for Maurice Villency and later as an independent designer for Condé Nast, Hearst, Carnegie Hall, and the New York City Department of Education, among others. Gigi is art director and cofounder of the PrinterNet Studio and professor of design, media, and film at Parsons School of Design, LIM College, the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center, and the College of Staten Island. She is currently developing projects in augmented and virtual reality. Her work can be seen at myellowboots.com, madlygifted.com, and gigipolo.academia.edu.
