Since 1983, CHAVÓN has graduated more than 2,000 students in its two-year college-level programs. Over the years our graduates, who come from around the world, have shown that a solid training in the area of design, together with an emphasis on industrial development, is an excellent formula for successful professional placement. Many of these young people have come to occupy distinguished positions in the areas of visual arts and design in the United States, Latin America, and Europe, as well as in the Dominican Republic.
The list of CHAVÓN graduates is extensive, and their achievements in the fields of fashion, graphic design, fine arts, illustration, and interior design are impressive, as much for their quality as for their quantity. Our graduates have assumed leadership positions in such Dominican and international businesses as Guess, DKNY, The Gap, Ralph Lauren, Victoria’s Secret, Reebok, Interior Design magazine, Anne Klein, Grupo M, McCann Erickson, Listín Diario, and Young & Rubicam. They have also done illustration and design work for People, The New York Times, and The Village Voice, among other publications.
Graduates of CHAVÓN have worked as art directors on magazines and newspapers. They have established companies in the world of fashion in which they design uniforms, innovative clothing lines, haute couture, and clothing accessories. Some have specialized in product design, and others have won prizes in art biennials and earned prestigious international honors for book illustration and commercial advertising design. They have gone on to exciting professional careers, exhibiting their work in major galleries and museums, holding top creative positions in some of the world’s most important companies, starting their own businesses, and teaching in world-renowned institutions.
