Artist Washington Ledesma … hands on the wheel!

This renowned Uruguayan artist, specializing in clay and ceramics, recently visited our Fine Arts second year students at La Romana campus. They had the opportunity to get up close and personal with him, who shared his vast experience working with clay, jewelry, painting, hand carving techniques, metal sculptures and engravings.

On this occasion, Ledesma, who states his inspiration “comes from ancient cultures, where men and animal spirits lived in harmony with nature”, gave a three-day workshop to instruct  chavoneros in the molding of ceramic and the creation of hollow pieces.
