Since its founding in 1983, CHAVÓN The School of Design, has had a 2+2 articulation agreement with Parsons School of Design, — the preeminent college of visual arts in the U.S. This agreement permits qualifying students to begin their studies in CHAVÓN’s two-year program and apply to Parsons’ New York campus to complete their 3rd and 4th years after maintaining at least a B (3.0) average at CHAVÓN and successfully meeting Parsons’ admissions and English language fluency requirements.
Students who successfully complete their studies at CHAVÓN, and are accepted to Parsons, will take part in the CHAVÓN/Parsons 2+2 program and obtain their Bachelors degree in Fine Arts. Therefore, the overall cost of their studies is substantially reduced, since tuition and living costs at CHAVÓN are substantially lower than those of other academic institutions abroad.
Because courses at CHAVÓN are taught in Spanish, the CHAVÓN/Parsons 2+2 program provides a two-year period in which to meet Parsons English proficiency standards through an optional English as a Second Language (ESL).
The program’s first two years provide a “bridge” period in which students can become acclimated to the intensity of a professional art/design education in a familiar environment, without simultaneously having to acclimate to the complex urban culture of New York City.
