Students study theories of art, using line, color, texture and form to begin their own creative journey, and to understand the importance of art as a communicator of emotion, ideas, morality and history.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"medium has-medium-font-size\"><strong>The curriculum begins with the<\/strong> <strong>Foundation Year, <\/strong>establishing the classic fundamentals of art\u2014drawing, painting, and sculpture. It also builds practical and experimental processes that permit individual expression and foster critical judgment. Intense time and study in the studios nurture the students\u2019 ability to represent reality in two dimensions, demystifying the elusive process through which three-dimensional perception is transformed by the eye, mind and hand into a convincing two-dimensional image.
